What Is A Solar Site Assessment?

  • It is NOT a Sales Call.

  • It is an Independent Solar Analysis of a property performed by an MREA Certified Solar Site Assessor.

  • It is the first step in the process to installing a Solar Energy System.

  • It is a written report containing detail of the entire assessment, including the feasibility of installing a Solar Energy System (Solar Hot Water and/or Solar Photovoltaic).

Solar Site Assessment - Different than a Home Inspection

Solar Site Assessment

  • a written report recommending appropriate solar energy systems for that client's needs.

  • addresses the future potential for energy savings and appreciated value of an installed solar energy system.

Home Inspection

  • a written report of the present condition of the physical structure and systems of a house.

  • does not address future value of mechanical systems or potential energy savings from those systems.

Solar Analysis using the Solar Pathfinder unit; can be conducted any time of year, any time of day, dawn to dusk, in sunny or cloudy weather.

The reflective convex dome of the Solar Pathfinder unit gives a panoramic view of the entire site. All the trees, buildings or other obstacles to the sun are plainly visible as reflections on the surface of the dome.
